Erin McCarthy

My name is Erin McCarthy. I began coaching gymnastics at the age of 15 and now have over 6 years of experience. I started working at Russell Gymnastics in September 2015 and I really enjoy coming to work every day in such a positive and welcoming environment. As a kid I began recreational gymnastics at 6 years old and competed through level 8 and high school. I also enjoyed participating in swimming, diving, track, and softball among other activities as a child.

Recently, in 2016, I graduated from UWSP with a B.A. in History. I really love to learn, which is a reason why I’m so drawn to this sport. I’m always learning new ways to help kids become better gymnasts and athle3tes. I also enjoy getting to know all of the awesome personalities that participate in the program and watching them progress and grow in the sport. I feel fortunate to be able to share this sport with so many aspiring gymnasts and to be a part of the program at Russell Gymnastics.

Ian Schiessl

I’m Coach Ian Schiessl, I grew up in Oshkosh Wisconsin. I did gymnastics as a kid and played varsity baseball at Oshkosh west high. I began coaching gymnastics in 2008 with Dave and Debbie Russell. I am a USAG Safety Certified Professional and I have attended multiple Gymnastics’ Congresses, learning from some of the top coaches in the nation. I have coached at regional and state competitions. Gymnastics and coaching is my passion and I love teaching kids as well as seeing them accomplish their goals.

Kaitlyn Stanton

My name is Kaitlyn Stanton. I am from Stevens Point, WI and currently a Psychology and Chemistry/Biology major with a minor in Pre-Med at UWSP.

My competitive gymnastics career began at the age of 8. At 12, along with competitions, I assisted in coaching. I continued on to compete on the varsity team as a freshman at SPASH. Russell Gymnastics then opened and I knew that is where I belonged. I competed as a Level 8gymnast for Russell and continued to assist in coaching. In the summer of 2015, I became USAG Certified and decided to coach full time.

Gymnastics has been a great influential part of my life forever for 10 years. I plan to continue coaching gymnastics through my college years. My love for gymnastics and working with children will never cease.

Zach Veith

My name is Zach Veith. This is my first season at Russell Gymnastics. I am originally from Oshkosh, WI. I've graduated with a Diesel Technology degree but my passion for martial arts and yoga led me to gymnastics. I coached at Oshkosh Gymnastic Center for two years learning from Ian and the other coaches there. Recently I have been coaching at WoodWard CO. I love coaching pre-school and all the rec classes.  Being silly, wild, and weird is so much fun for me and the kids love it. I'm excited to be in Stevens Point and really looking forward to this year.
